OUR MISSION
To enrich the lives of Steamboat Springs, Colorado area residents and visitors of all ages, abilities, and socio-economic groups through pickleball and tennis. We do this by providing premier tennis and pickleball facilities; robust recreational and training programs; and innovative engagement of under-resourced families, adaptive athletes, seniors, and other social cohorts.

OUR VISION
The City of Steamboat Springs Tennis and Pickleball Complex is nationally acclaimed as a public
recreational treasure for its facilities and programs. A new Pickleball Center and upgraded Tennis
Center will provide everyone more ways to enjoy quality recreation with family and friends, leading to
improved mental and physical health, increased sense of community and, of course, fun!
HISTORY
Owned by the City of Steamboat Springs, the Steamboat Tennis & Pickleball Complex has grown tremendously, due in large part to the explosion in pickleball participation. In 2017, two outdoor tennis courts were converted to eight pickleball courts, leading to even greater demand for dedicated indoor pickleball courts for cold weather and tournament use.

October 2019 – The Court Sports for Life Foundation (CS4L) was founded with City approval to raise funds for and build a new indoor Pickleball Center, after which CS4L would take over the operation and maintenance of the entire Tennis & Pickleball Complex. Design goals included building 12 indoor pickleball court in a metal structure; retaining 8 outdoor pickleball courts; improving 6 outdoor tennis courts; and expanding the parking lot.

April 2020 – CS4L was granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the IRS.
November 2020 – The City of Steamboat Springs approved CS4L's long-term land lease, clearing the way for the indoor Pickleball Center project to proceed.
December 2020 – CS4L was designated a Colorado Enterprise Zone contribution project, with terrific tax benefits for Colorado residents for donations of $250 or more made after 12/17/20.

January 1, 2021 – The Conways' concessionaire business merged with Court Sports 4 Life, consolidating our joint commitment to serving our community, including youth, seniors, under-resourced families, and adaptive athletes.

August 2021 – CS4L proposed proceeding in phases to match our fundraising. (Details available on our Expansion Project page.)
December 2021 – City Council approved the phased plan. An anonymous $1 million donation allows the board to commit to starting Phase 1 in Summer 2022!

2022 – Phase 1 of the expansion project completely rebuilt 4 outdoor tennis courts and 8 outdoor pickleball courts, all post-tension construction and gel-coated, plus 28 new parking spots!

2023 – The board takes a leap of faith, with the City's approval, committing to taking out a nearly $5M loan in order to begin Phase 2. Construction of the new Pickleball Center began in September 2023 with projected completion in Summer 2024.

2024 – Meg Tully is named Executive Director following in the footsteps of Loretta and Bill Conway. The new Pickleball Center had a "soft" opening on July 22nd! Our first gala, the Center Court Smash held on Tuesday, August 6th, was indeed a smash! Save the date for next's years party – Tuesday, July 29th.
PARTNERSHIPS
CS4L cherishes the goals of the Steamboat Tennis Association and will continue to partner with the STA to support the youth of Routt County. Similarly, we continue to collaborate with the Steamboat Springs Pickleball Association, from the design of the new facility to the introduction of new programs and events.
In addition, CS4L will continue to offer discounts to local non-profits and schools for court time, equipment and instruction.
